Mitchell obtained his law degree in 2014 at the University of Saskatchewan. He commenced articling with a mid-sized firm in the spring of 2014 and received his call to the bar in June of 2015. He began practicing in Unity in the fall of 2019 and became managing partner of Cooper Neil Law Firm in 2021.
Mitch is an involved member of the community, contributing to both local and provincial organizations as a board director and is engaged in several capacities in public affairs. Prior to attending university, Mitchell played one year of junior hockey in El Paso, Texas. He continues to play senior hockey for the Unity Miners. Mitchell is an avid hunter, and enjoys his weekends at the lake. Mitchell and his wife Alison have two sons, Jacob and Murray, and are proud to call Unity their home.
